Jeff 386
Just an update on my old 09 Sable. Saw it sitting in front of the Dollar General today on my way home from work. Stopped quickly and snapped a pic or two. She's looking pretty rough these days. One of my friends reported that when they saw it last, the engine had an audible knock while idling. I feel bad for the car. I wish I'd have kept it now. Jeff

Brian_05_SEL 1418
I spent the past couple of days cleaning my stuff out and preparing the ‘04 Sable wagon to leave for it’s new home this weekend.

Welcome to PTSOC, Previous Taurus and Sable Owners' Club. We still have memories of good times, but the cars aren't there anymore.

SoNic 36
My 2001 Sable Wagon was passed to my 17 yr daughter. The comment was that is long, but it moves faster than the 2000 Sonata that she learned to drive on. That Sonata is on the verge of being "let go" to greener pastures. SoNic 36
I've replaced the front driver side caliper. During braking the pedal was feeling a bit "mushy", kept going in if pressed harder. On examination of brake pads, the one by cylinder was much more worn that the floating one. Bleed the new caliper with a 2' clear silicone hose (1/4" interior diameter) with the end drooped inside an empty bottle of water. The brake fluid on bottom of bottle prevents air to get sucked back in. New pads and discs too, beded in. Success.

2005TaurusSE 1
Hello, everyone! Just joined. Bought my 2005 SE sedan on 7/31/20...Windveil Blue was always my favorite color too. Moonroof, Vulcan V6. Since I got it, added a lens to the overhead light fixture, got the other interior light hooked up, replaced the air valve sensor, installed new hood struts, new washer fluid cable to the hood. Coil pack went bad and fried the PCM (dealer fixed that at no charge to me). I also installed 4 brand new Firestone tires. I've had the AC fuse 10A blowing regularly under the hood. Clearly a short somewhere. Noticed the wiring harness across the engine that goes behind the alternator down to the compressor...exposed wires. The plastic tubing had split apart. After many fuses being replaced, I bought tubing and inserted a 6" section to cover the exposed wires inside. Been 4 days now...and no blown fuses. Thank God.... Love my car. 166,000 miles.

Windveil blue really was one of the best 2000's colors. My old 2005 was in that color. I do miss that car, I just wish it wasn't rusting out and had problems
