There's good chrome and then there's bad chrome.

^^ This is the good kind. I'll have more pictures of the finished trim later.

Find some Sable LS door trim panels, and you'll have a really neat look goin' on. I dig it. :)

I'm going to stick with just filling in the front and rear bumper channels with the chrome, unless I happen to find a Silver Frost LS in very good condition at a JY this year. Any pitting on the chrome trim, and it'd be a no-go for me.

Thanks guys. I figured the final result would look better than it sounds by describing this as the addition of stick-on chrome. This mod is just classy enough to fit the car's overall 'theme'. My idea from the beginning for this car has been to make it a sport/luxury sedan with the exterior essentially all being Silver Frost paint, polished metal, or chrome- except for dark areas like the windows, headlights, and matte black body trim, or the required red rear lamps- thus making the car seem to be all monochromatic silver.

Seriously It looks like the only mods I see are a Cone Filter and a LOT OF KRYLON...

4 years later, and still the same photos and mod list.

Want to tell me how you managed to get a double-roller chain on the engine? What was it sourced from? Who made the new sprockets for you?

56mm TB? Sounds awfully familiar to the BBK 3.8 TB that the ranger guys like to frankenstein onto their trucks. Don't tell me you honed out the stock upper to accept a 56mm TB either. Anything much past 52-53mm, and you start chewing through the outside wall. Unless you've swapped your upper, then it might be plausible. For now, all I see are pictures of a stock G1/G2 manifold with the STOCK A$$ THROTTLE BODY.....and a cute hot air intake.

Welcome to the forum. I want to know that this car actually is what you say it is. The Easter bunny wants to know, too.

Anyone else notice that in the post he states a Crower cam and a 2001 ranger intake...

Yet his sig states a Delta cam with a 99 ranger intake?

Hey bub, one thing for you... If you really knew how to build engines, you would know that at any bore size, dome pistons and stock heads would give you way more static compression then 9.6:1. :liar: Somebody get a mod in here.

The car was at the Sylmar, CA (shocal) meet last weekend ....... the easter bunny showed up a few minutes late - There were a minimum of 8 pictures posted from the meet which included the GL-R..... I take no offence to the skeptics.... most who see the car - including Matt, Noli, Scott, Jose last weekend have a slightly different viewpoint.

Cheers,

YET THESE PICTURES SEEM TO ELUDE US... Where are they? The pics you posted in your "mods" list show none (save for Ascetic... and a "CAI" that you never mentioned in the list...) We (all of us... Seriously guys we are hurting his feelings :whine:) will most certainly back off, just as soon as you prove what you say... You mean to tell me you made $5000+ worth of mods to a $750 car and you didn't take ANY pics? How are we supposed to believe you?

Also weren't you the guy who had this thing for sale on eBay a few years back? If its the same car (IT IS...) weren't you calling it the GL DELETE back... then Like a 1992 L but a 1993 GL with no options for UBER weight reduction?

@ taurusglr You should post a video of it running so we can somewhat witness the mechanical mods you did to your car.

I do like what you did to the exterior of the car though very subtle but bad ass at the same time . B) Kinda looks like it can be an autocross race car.

The pictures don't elude anyone - They are right where I said they have been - I have tons of pictures of the car and it's mods.... but the ones on shocal are just a few days old and that's why I mentioned the shocal meet. I'm not looking for anyone to back off either. Anyone is welcome to check out ShoCal - Matt A (Green Gen 2 Sho) who has been around these forums for years was there, Scott and his beautiful '91 black sho was there..... Jose, Noli....... they were there also. It's puzzling why you haven't taken two minutes to check out ShoCal's meet section.... it's there for anyone who want's to see it.....

Oh I checked out SHOCAL, and I even *Tried* to become a member to view your stuff (it wont even let me see without being one...) Which still I still haven't recivied the verification email for... Its not hard, ESPECIALLY if you have a photobucket account (which you do) to make us here at the TSOC a gallery of the build and hell why not some videos too? Since you got them... Right?

Not sixty thousandths (.060), but NEARLY 5/8" bored out. Now those are some custom pistons. I didn't think you could do that without boring in to the adjacent cylinder. :o

I didn't ask nor did I expect respect - I simply posted a little bit about my GL and that's it....... your ShoCal verification will come soon, then you can look anytime and if you choose still call BS if you want to.... I will be at most of ShoCal's meets so I'm sure some additional video of the car will be taken at the frequent meets and I plan on going the the big Monterey meet also this summer. I built the car over 5 years ago, it has less than 10,000 on it since then..... 99% of the time it sits underneath a car cover in my garage, besides taking it on a Sunday drive every now and then..... The car has not changed a bit in the last 5 years and very rarely gets driven so I don't take pictures of it frequently.....as some have asked about.
