Came down with the flu on Saturday evening, finally I can taste things again. I didn't want to get anyone else sick, so you're welcome  :nopity:

I wondered what happened to you ! Thank you for being considerate and not sharing it with us all. I just got over it before I went to Denver earlier this month.

Hope we see you in October !

I asked around my shop for a good body shop and got several recommendations on a place. He looked at poor Third Bull and thinks it will run $300-$500 to fix the rust problem. He'll know more when he gets it in and up  to inspect the undercarriage when he does the work later in April.

Thanks Paul for doing the dirty work and exposing the evil evil rust !

Sorry for being the one to expose such terror.

Rust?

I've seen worse than this in parking lots around here.

My '01 dogleg was worse than this. If you can't stick a broomstick through it to the tire, it ain't rusty.

I would hate to even have my car looked at for rust. It's so bad in the rockers and getting into the doglegs.... yeah I would probably be told to just buy another car.

Rust retired My Supercharged 96 SHO (SHO R T S)

Got so bad, I went to jack it up one day, put the jack under a corner of the car and jacked it up.

Only one tire went up - the other three stayed on the ground. DOH !

On my '01 I patched the dog leg with Bondo and glass fiber, looks ok, filled the remaining rockers with expanding foam, and did what in the pic so I could Jack it up. Then had to replace the sub frame to sell it. Now 3 rust free '02-'03's in the herd, all cars from down SOUTH.

The next owner of my green Taurus had the same problem -- engine and transmission were fine, but the frame rusted through.

Here's a quick reflection on our recent banner tests:

First we had this one, advertising the meet....

Then Nick made an appearance...

He commandeered the club, and made it his own...

Then we got classy with a JPEG...

Finally we returned to Taurus in the banner, but something strange...

...and for anyone who saw Cristell's business card on the wall, she made an appearance too!

I haven't updated on this thread, but I just wanted to thank everyone for being so hospitable and welcoming to me last weekend.  I normally don't socialize a whole lot and most of you could probably tell that.   It was a great time and I'll definitely be back in October...hopefully in the 89 Sable wagon.  If I'm allowed.  It will likely be the ugliest car there, but it is what it is. lol Thanks everyone and thanks Nick for being such a great host.
