If Brian is doing it it! I must

2003 Ford Taurus SE – Fleet Delete

Arizona Beige Metallic Exterior

Medium Parchment Interior

Vulcan with 137,700 miles

We got the car in August 2006 and it had 48,000 miles on it. I had a ever-so-slight fender bender which really damaged my front bumper. 70,000 miles and 1.5 transmissions (Torque Converter died originally so I count that as a half haha) later I have a new front bumper and headlights and the car is looking mighty fine if I do say so myself. I have spent a lot of time trying to make this car no-so Fleet Delete.

Modifications

• Mach audio amp

• Mach audio door tweeters

• Gen4 6 Disc CD changer – mounted in newly added center console

• MFS chrome end cap

• Chrome door plungers – short ones all around

• 99 SHO/SE Sport Rims

• Centennial Taillights

• Stock spoiler

• White faced Gen4 gauges and possibly a painted gauge bezel

• Fog lights tied into the parking lamps with a kill-switch

• 2001 Sable Center console (remounted CD changer from trunk to console)

• 2 switches mounted on forward part of center console that is for antenna and baby sleep mode.

• Extra trunk lights

• In Door Courtesy Lights using Gen 4 Trunk Lights

• Floor courtesy lights from a Gen 3

• Power antenna – added a switch that allows the antenna to raise and lower independently of the stereo.

Here is a video of it in action.

• Folding rear seat

• 4 Note Cadillac horns

Link to the Video Of The Horns In Action

• Lighted Dual visors

• Ford Windstar “Baby Sleep Mode” lighting, which disables the upper/overhead courtesy lights when a door is opened. So I installed a kill switch that disables the overhead dome light but keeps puddle, footwell and door lamps on.

• AutoDim mirror with compass (Gentex)

• AutoLamp – Currently in progress, only parking lights work due to fleet delete.

Things done to make it non-fleet delete

• Put in GEM and fusebox from 2002 Sable which allowed

• Stock keyless entry

• Added in capabilities for trunk release via keyless entry. Non fleet-delete cars have a module to enable trunk release through keyless. Had to wire in a relay from a non-fleet delete car.

• Upcoming is dual-stage unlock. With fleet delete, the wiring is not there for dual-stage. When I hit unlock once on my remote, the interior lights turn on but the drivers door does not unlock. I have to hit unlock twice to get any sort of action.

• Puddle lamps – tied into floor lights

Upcoming mods

• AutoLamp that is configured and wired up differently than standard AutoLamp.

• Painted grille

• One-touch-down for the front passenger window

• Rear disc brakes

• Keyless entry keypad

Onto the pictures

Home link!

For the Home link I had cut a hole out in the head liner big enough for the buttons to fit through the hole. Once the hole was big enough for the pins to lock in i pushed the faceplate securely on in the headliner and spent some time moving it around to make sure that it would not pop out. Once i finished with that i ran all the wiring that was needed to the opener on the map lights wiring and that was it.

Are you sure? It moves so fast I didn't know it was all that visible in motion. You know all that mad vulcan-ness.

Gentz,

There is a box in the pictures above that is located on the dash at the left A pillar.

Can you identify it? It looks like the original Scan Gauge!

Good luck in the contest.
