Highlights From My New Job...

Recommended Posts

B)

As some of you are likely already aware, I have been working for about a month now selling preowned luxury and import cars at an independent dealership located about 20 minutes outside of Chicago, called Jidd Motors. The two brothers who own it also have four family-owned luxury car stores overseas: two in Dubai, UAE, plus Amman, Jordan and Baghdad, Iraq. Des Plaines, Illinois is their first US location with plans for at least one additional in the future.

In this ongoing thread, I will be posting some pictures of various cars and trucks that have come across our lot since I started in early October. Try to keep any drooling to a minimum- your keyboard will appreciate it. :P

This property was formerly a Kia dealership, until about 2007. The vehicle seen here has been stationary in our fenced secure lot since before the Kia franchise folded up... :o

I like the open air feeling of that silver camry.....those doors theyve designed into that car sure do give you a feeling of being outside while behind the wheel :D I dig the Trailblazer SS too......

My uncle used to drive a Trail Blazer SS. Then he traded it for a GMC Acadia.

Bad to worse?

Well, the SS is definitely better than the Acadia...

Tell more about the Van, please.

That thing rocks. I KNOW I could make it work. What an awesome tow vehicle for dragging home dead SHO's.

Not much more to tell that I know of, honestly. Nobody knows where the keys or title might be, not even our co-owners. It just came along with the dealership property when Jidd Motors moved in. Like a 3-ton, secondhand lawn gnome. The interior looks like it was done in some kind of custom shag carpet/velour, but due to the crappy purpled window tint I can't get any pictures of it to actually turn out. I would have to imagine that, at this point, the fuel (diesel?) inside the tank is useless and that the interior has an unspeakable smell being trapped inside.

Brian be so kind to inform us what that van has under the hood.  Ahh I was a second too late to see you can't get into it.

I don't know, but I'll try to grab the VIN when I'm at work this week. With the stacks it has, I assumed some kind of diesel engine.

The title for it is not around, as I already said.

Tell you what, if someone commits to buying it as-is, I will talk to my bosses and see about what we need to arrange to get it gone.

That would be pretty funny. Especially if keys are with it.

OMG !

If Diesel, it would either be a 6.9 (boo)

Or 7.3 International. OMFG ! ! ! - Hands down, the best Diesel ever put under a Ford hood!. What a beast this ugly pig could be.

I could get around the key problem with a slide hammer and a screwdriver in about 45 seconds if I was in a bad mood.

Oh yeah - Congrats on the new job. Sorry to not mention all the cool cars you've been involved with, but those are sold, I can't get at them anymore, so they are less interesting to me.

Its most likely a old IDI 7.3L so don't get too excited, maybe 150hp out of that motor.

The powerstroke wasn't introduced until 1994.

Actually the first year for the IDI turbo was 1993, so that van has no turbo.
