216,000 miles: original motor with transmission rebuilt at 195k, given to me with 175k in 2007. My family bought it with 15,000 miles on it in 1997 for about $15,000.

I'll be hitting 60k with the SEL by next week- it's got the Vulcan and AX4N; my sister's SE should reach 60k by the end of the summer on an all-original Vulcan/AX4N powertrain; my former GL has to have at least 90-95k now with a Vulcan and it's second (re-manufactured) AX4S.

Is there a medium-high mileage club, too? :P

153000 on original untainted odometer. We bought the car off the lot brand new with 53 miles. Incredible deal that is as that's the dealer's last 00-03 model, they just wanted it  gone so they can stock all 04-07s'(or so we were told), We have driven the car everywhere across this great nation since and it never let us down. Original motor and transmission.

If I ever give this car a name it will be "Gran Turismo", For a car that took me to Baltimore, Anchorage, San Francisco..etc and back home, that's a well deserved title.

1998 Taurus SE

Duratec DOHC w/ AX4N

Transmission erupted at 113k, pump bearing blew out and chewed up the pump, filled the valve body with chunks of metal, fried the T/C, caused a clutch disc to break into a few pieces and was spit out. Only thing left usable was the case.

And that's how she sits.

And now I have this beast to play around with:

Haven't quite got it all back together yet, but having more HP than the Taurus in a much lighter car is awesome.......

Should be hitting the official 170,000 mile mark next week, sometime. I've just been rounding up for the past year, since I figured it would take eons to reach 170k. The car was at 169,200 when the a/c went out last July. It's now at 169,700, so you can see I drive the car SO much. I'd like to see if I can get 200k out of the original motor and trans, but I have a feeling both of those will be swapped out for some newer fun-bits before the car hits 175k. Que sera...
