I saw this horribly best up gen 2 today. Lady couldn't drive either and had to try and back out of the parking space 5 times.post-2174-13725773766111_thumb.jpg

Smash em up!

Had ford used better bumpers, the damage wouldn't be like it is.

You might as well use graham crackers for bumpers - that plastic does nothing.

Xenoy may not have been their best move, but at least it is very easily welded and repaired when minor damage is done.

Those days of big iron are over.

The wife drove our '83 Grand Marq into the side of parked cars years ago. She reached back for the seatbelt, her foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas. Drove a car sideways into another car. First car totaled. Our GM had no damage. NONE.

Doubt you could do that now with any pickup and not do big damage.

Just have to adjust to today's cars.

Also, '93 Lin Cont, car ran a red light and I hit her square in the rear wheel, spun it around 360 and she kept on same direction maybe 50 feet. The Lin had grille and hood damage, ~$2K total. In fact, the hood would be repaired if it was NOT ALUMINUM. Today that would have totaled my car. Wait: my Sable '03 is totaled, so insurance says cannot total it again unless it is completely repaired and certified. Otherwise, it is insued for $406, just what I paid them for it.

Happy motoring.

Two Gen 5 Sables...

Sam was following me very creepily

Gen 4 driven by a 90+ year old man. We arrived at the store at the same time. I ran in, bought my card, and was out. He was just making it to the entrance at that time I was leaving the store.

And a Nice sport with awful chrome accents on the vent visors and sunroof deflector, and a beat to hell gen 3. Even had a cheapo push up manual sunroof... o how I dispise those things. Plus, it does not match the roof line.

Those days of big iron are over.

Off topic but...

As a sophomore in high school I drove a '72 Jeep Wagoneer. Both front fenders were caved which made the steel bumper appear to stick out from either side. I was backing out of a parking space to go to lunch off campus with about 10 passengers, who were loudly joking and carrying on. As I pulled out, I hooked a Monte Carlo (G-body) parked beside me by the rear wheel well. Before I noticed, I had dragged the Monte about 4 feet out of it's parking space. No damage to either vehicle other than a tiny crease in the chrome trim of the wheel well. My ego suffered greater damage from my friends.

My Grandfather (God rest His soul) had a Jeep Wagoneer. The only thing it was missing was a turret, that vehicle was a tank! He used it to tow His boat and take his Grandson fishing. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Those were the good ole days of my youth.

That's a $300-400 deal any day of the week, buy it and run it till it dies only performing oil changes then and get another one. I would and still do see quite a few of the late 80's and early 90's Ford sedans. Those suckers just rot like crazy up here. 9/10 times if you see an old Escort, Taurus, Sable, or Panther car, it is rusted out so bad that it has probably lost all structural integrity. Its not just Fords, GM, Honda, and Toyota, all cars of that late 80's era just don't last in the Upper Midwest winters.

It is special to see any 20+ year old common vehicle in even half way decent shape. Most people don't care enough to make it last.

You won't see the rust here, but most plastic parts will have sunrotted, the dash will be split and splintered, and the paint will have lost any clearcoat. Headlights will be faded more than normal as well.

Sad to see. Rust never sleeps.

Got any full res shots of that 1st gen rotted LS Brian? That's pretty bad looking.

Just the one, the front end is facing towards a busy street and that apartment complex parking lot isn't exactly in the nicest part of town. The full lenses up front are yellowed and hazy, though, and the driver's side looks equally as bad with large holes rusted through in each side panel and door.

Lol I was on the highway today and there was a 'parade of bulls'. Literally about 7 of them. Mostly gen 4's, a few gen 3's. At the back was this gen 3 that kept sweeping in and out of its lane trying to get ahead. Moron didn't use his blinker and almost hit like 5 people (many bulls!). He couldn't get anywhere though lol. Was a piece of s**t car with the fake fender vents and half a rear bumper cover. Was a black chick on the phone driving.

C'mon guys! Don't let this topic go dead!!!

A super nice Gen 3.. don't see many around here anymore. No rust on this car at all.

2cynsbr.jpg

And how about this???!!!

We had a customer at work looking for bodywork supplies. This is why:

rrum49.jpg

okc51u.jpg

A nice rust free 1999 SE. Guy took great care of the car. Said he took a shortcut through the wrong part of the city... and regrettably so. He was shot at. 3 Bullets struck his car... the third went in the front right tire.. he had a donut on the car.

Also, of course lately at work, I helped out a lady with her 2004 Sable Platinum edition with 60k miles... the thing was mint. Couldn't get a photo.

Also helped out a lady with her 2003 SES sport... 157k miles.. rusted to hell, and smelled like smoke.

Lastly, a 2003 Centennial Edition... perfect shape.. drove by me as I mowed the lawn. The three times I was unable to take a picture had to be of a Limited edition bull.

I've seen so many bulls lately . . . . . . . . .

I just stopped snapping pics of ones that were not interesting. Only take pics of SHO's or something rare!

I'll upload some when the photo bucket app works on iOS 7! Annoying they take forever to update stuff... Too lazy to put them on the computer.

iOS 7 isnt even out lol. Why would they update it? It's like me complaining how there arent any anti virus programs for Win 8.1.

Well there are tons of developers already updating their apps. You obviously want them ready for the release. Beta 3 is almost bug free on the iPhone 5.
