Recommended Posts

I have actually seen and sat in a BiTurbo, it is a funny little car, but its a maz and its twin turbo has that amazing sound.

Sean, this is proof that nobody (besides you) liked the Aztec.

The Aztek is on every worst car list...

...for a reason.

Yeah, Sean doesn't agree. :icon_rolleyes:

I do like the Pontiac Aztek, too. Great utility vehicles.

Until I actually see another one and remember what a monstrosity it is.

A bad car is a late 90s/early 2000s Chevrolet Malibu/Oldsmobile Cutlass. What a waste of metal.

My coworker lost his old man beige-colored 2000 Malibu last month. A street lamp pole "just jumped right out in front" while driving in a church parking lot. Doing at least 35.

One more down...

Two of my friends have 2001 Malibu's, and both of the engines are going. They both have atrocious rod nocks. They are definantly a contender for the worst car on the road.

Mid 80s Chevy Cavaliers...they rusted on the lot.

Also, anything with a Chevy 2.8/3.1/3.4 as they always found unique ways to fail, catch fire, or both.

I feel like catching fire is the same as failing :D

So either fail, or fail and catch fire!

I remember when the Pontiac Aztek came out. i was a kid. frist thing to come to my mind "box on wheels"

Chevy Cavalier. Mom got one for free. thing was rusted like hell and the engine died after a year. Funny thing about it. when she got it it only had 10,000 miles on it. sat for years.

:rofl2:... Says the Dodge Caliber Driver.

I drive Honda Fit but I'm still big Ford guy. Sure it's normal to hate on certain car makers. But to say Honda or even Toyota makes the worst cars on the road is dumb.

Yuck anything dodge/chrysler/jeep. I'd rather have a honda or toyota than one of those!

The worst cars on the road are not made by honda or toyota, they actually make pretty decent cars in my opinion. The worst cars on the road are the three I listed above IMO.

It's funny this was said because I was just at the junkyard yesterday looking for a header panel for my mother in law's 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. They were ALL busted except for one. The plastics on those things are among the cheapest things I've ever seen both inside and out. The car has 250,000 on it, 3.4L engine and transmission still run quite strong but the rest of the car is just total garbage.

Hey, I'm waiting for nitrogen powered engines. They will probably be made of mostly plastic! Yikes if you ask me, these new engines are a lot of plastic already and the plastic likes to break. Low temps mean plastic is a viable option. Cars will run on antifreeze and nitrogen, hah!

The Yugo, if memory serves me was imported by Bricklin in the mid-eighties. The most interesting thing is, it is based on a Fiat model. Another Fiat based design was the Russian Lada and again with the memory, a Spanish SEAT. Very few of these cars ever made it to North America (maybe a few more up here in Socialist Canada than in the US) and the ones that did do not have a great reputation. Styling wise, there are far uglier cars on the road than the Fiat; for example the Citroën 2CV (Deux Chevaux). And no argument with the Pontiac Aztec. The later models were slightly better than the earlier side-clad models which were just butt ugly. Ditto for the early Chev Avalanches.

Yet in Europe, you can see Yugos (called Застава Корал), Fiats, Seat and even Lada in the Eastern European countries. One thing the Eastern bloc countries did quite regularly is copy Western designs (reverse engineering or purchasing designs like Fiat). Which is why their trucks still resemble the old International Harvester K-series from WWII and early fifties Fords. Even Chinese trucks are distant cousins of the IH K-series.

Old Jeeps are some of the best vehicles ever, any old wranger or Cherokee will last forever, the straight 6 is a rough motor but it can run forever. I have one buddy who has a 03 Liberty and that is a nice truck too. That powertech 3.7 is a little sleeper motor.

Nothing will run badly, forever, like a late 20th Century GM crapbox... :P

I've heard some complaints about the early-mid 2000s Cavaliers. I test drove one with a broken interior and the seller said all of them were like that (not sure if lying, but the Cav was $2000 anyway). A close acquaintance I knew through JROTC almost bought a last-gen Cavalier, but his friends hounded him saying they were costly to maintain. They look like appealing cars, but what I've heard is rediculous. :pat:

Somewhat offtopic, but as far as the cars I hate seeing, its Nissans. It seems like all the popular kids around my area want a black/white Altima, Versa or such. Nothing personal, but I'm just annoyed noticing this, is all.

That pushrod 2.0 is only good as a boat anchor. Just saying.

The seats in those cars were so under designed. I took one apart at the yard to see why the butt cushion always looked like it was sagging. Sure enough, they used a piece of cloth to provide the cushion under the cloth, stretched between the seat frame. What a joke. Ford did a much better design, which is why Taurus seats are still comfy at 250K+ miles. 86 and up.

Lots of car makers have done this in the past where they will make super cheap cars and just use a piece of cloth to save money and not think about the consequences. . . Ford has done this too, but it's more with the placement of where stuff is that makes it F***ing IMPOSSIBLE to get stuff done without tons of hours worth of work.
