What Have You Done To Your Other Vehicle Lately?

3917 posts in this topic

Since there's a daily updated on what did you to your Taurus, why can't the other vehicles have a daily threadlaugh.gif. I'll start with the F150.

Added a red nose to the front of it just a few minutes ago. Also got the rust fixed on the fender so it doesn't look like Devin's old bumper.

My other car is a Focus wagon with heart (and guts) of an SVT. Modifications this winter include redoing the interior, adding a rear spoiler, SVT front bumper, SVT side skirts and maybe a new paint job (if the money holds out.) My toy, and it is not for sale as it was built by my son.

The other vehicle is a 93 4Runner. It's got an underpowered 3.0 v6 and saggy rear springs.....huh.gif.In the last year I've done plugs, wires, cap and rotor that all looked to be original. I greased the u-joints the other day and gave it a good cleaning.

I picked up an extra set of dash trim for next to nothing and did something a little different to it:

103_4645.jpg

Sprayed plasti-dip on the wheels to see if I liked it.

And then pressure washed the plasti-dip off. As it sits now:

Drivers side low beam went out and I was pissed off because one H11 ST was 25 dollars and a pair was $40.00 locally.

I ordered a set for $18.99 delivered to my door next wednesday. I just won't drive it at night.

Besides, 1 low beam headlight , the factory fogs and the 100 watt PIAA Yellow fogs are more than enough light.

Trevor! I like the dash trim, but why did you wassh the plastidip off? I thought it looked pretty cool!

Mike,, where are the PIAA fogs mounted? I don't see them...

Thanks Sean. I ended up taking the Plasti-dip after I got some tire shine overspray on them and it lifted the P-D off around the edges. I'll probably do them again come spring. I like how changing the color of the wheels makes such a difference in the overall look.

Besides the Jeep brake line, which I made a new thread for, I replaced the broken window regulator clip on my Audi that prevented me from closing the drivers side window.

Yup, that's what you need to do to fix it(as per several Internet postings and the Haynes manual). It's not that hard to remove the window frame-it's held in by 4 Torx bolts. It just lifts right out as an assembly. Apparently the dealer will replace the regulator assembly for about $400. I bought the 2 clips for about $18 on ebay! I bought the clips for the passenger side as well, so I'll change them in the future. It's just a matter of time before they fail. It's a 2000 A4. Edited by 2000_Gold_Taurus

Put gas in my '84 F-250 and started to load up extra scrap I have laying around. Then it got dark so here I am now :P Going to pull the motor outta the chevy here in a few weeks and rebuild it or put a different one in.

Well, I bought an '87 Mustang GT in late October... it sat for a little while, while I shuffled vehicles (scrapped my '69 C10 that was too far gone, sold the F450, and cleaned the hell out of my garage afterwards)

Work got busy the last few weeks so I went on a buying spree... Headers, X pipe, Magnaflow mufflers for the exhaust... bought a motor for $500 with a BBK intake, E303 cam and MSD distributor already... T-5 and B&M short-throw for $200... Then a buddy and I bought a parts-car LX and we've since cannibalized that...

Went to the boxing day sales at Mopac today and dropped to the order of $900 on parts

Got a 255lph fuel pump, roller rocker conversion kit, clutch firewall adjuster, linelock, plug wires, header boots, Stage 8 locking bolts, Ford Racing 4.10s for the rear end, BBK cold air intake, etc etc etc...

All thats left is the mass air conversion, the speedo gears, slap all my parts together and stab them into the car...

Then turn the key, drop the clutch, and drive the living snot out of it. :D

This happened a couple of weeks ago (before I joined the forum), but it was all done in one day.

After 60,000 Trouble free Miles (Currently at 125,000) in my 2003 Nissan Frontier (4 Cyl, 5 speed) I figured it was time to show it some love. The shocks were pretty much blown all the way around so this needed to be addressed. Instead of getting stock struts I figured I would take it a step further.

Start with a Stock 2WD 4cyl 5MT Frontier....

Install a bunch of cool s**t.... (Belltech Drop struts, Drop Spindles and rear drop springs).

DSC_0228.jpg

And end up with a 2900 LB Truck that handles like its on rails, still gets 27 MPG and a retains a ride that is more then tolerable (Similar to a Koni/Intrax SHO) for a Daily Driven vehicle.

Next is a rear sway bar and Minor aesthetic details and it will be finished! Should be a fun little truck to Auto-X every now and then as well. :)

Calibre? Ex-president? Ex-Calibre. Are we talking King Arthur or something. Or is it some other big shot? (Reference: 357 "Magnum".) Chrysler Corporation seemed to have a weapon brain fart when it named their cars: Calibre, Magnum, Arrow, Colt. Then again who are we kidding, Ford has farm animals on their mind: Mustang, Pinto, Taurus, Cougar, with maybe a little (ahem) on the side, Escort (Focus man, Focus.)

Truck looks great!

Dad bought a new Frontier in '98 when they first came out. 4 cyl 5 spd. Great little truck that put up with tons of abuse and very little maintenance from Dad. It was totaled when Dad plowed through a pack of mule deer. Truck had 260k miles.
