Lug Nuts For Steel Wheels

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for 20 lug nuts that also have the external threads to hold the hub caps. The winter tires just look naked.

The hubcaps aren't held on by the lugnuts. They're held in place by a spring clip ring that attaches to the rim of the wheel.

Do you want 'Hub Caps' or 'Wheel Covers'? Hub caps only cover out to about the lugs, wheel covers cover all of the steelie. Wheel covers generally just "clip" on the the outer most steel lip of the wheel, Hub caps might need special lugs though

Those are the standard low profile lug nuts. The SEL alloys use those as well. Pretty much all of the wheels that aren't the 5-spoke alloys use those.

Yes quertz but they are the same as the ones that GM, Honda, some Ford vehicles and many more, use to secure the hubcap/wheel cover to the wheel assembly.

A fake (usually plastic) lug nut is secured into a cap/cover and twisted onto the outer threads of the standard low profile lug nut, thus securring the cap/cover to the wheel assembly.

Correct. You will need lug nuts with threads on the outside to hold these hubcaps,

(which do not have the clips with a retaining ring like a standard hubcap.)
