  1. Hello, I have an 89' sho. I got it in 1990 with about 10000 miles on it. It has about 150K now. I work out of my home and am sort of local in my driving. I drive the car daily at least a little and drive easy. I'm 68 years old.I have 2 problems that may have been there for awhile, but have gotten worse. Problem 1 is a weak start. I turn the key and it starts weak and stutters a little in the low RPM range and then recovers to the normal tack (8900) setpoint. If I try to go before the car warms up, it will die and require that I push the accelerator to floor to start it, but it does start. When the car has warmed up, it runs OK. Problem 2 is that while it runs OK, there has been a major loss in power. The top speed is maybe 80MPH down hill with a tail wind. When I go up a hill in 4th, I can lose 10 MPH. The gas mileage is also real bad. MAF, plugs and wires, and O2 sensors are new. Any help will be appreciated. The car is in good shape in and out. I do a little restoring about every 5 years and this is a 5th year. I'm hoping to get another 50K out of this car. Please help.Thanks,craig tussey Any help will be appreciated.   2. Hello All. I'm new to this forum and new to a 1995 Sable Wagon with a 3.8L V6 engine. I just bought it last week and by the weekend, I was having problems. Intermittently, the car won't start. It cranks as though it wants to start, but just won't turn over. I went back to the car an hour later, still nothing, another hour later, still nothing. 3-4 hours later, starts fine, sounds great, runs great! Its done this to me on Saturday and again on Sunday. I took it to my mechanic on Monday, he couldn't get it to "not start", he tried again Tuesday, still couldn't get it to fail. I took it home Tuesday afternoon. I went out about an hour later and the car wouldn't start! Arrrrgh!!! Again, 3 hours or so later, started right up. A new symptom popped up Wednesday. I was driving the car back to the mechanic got about 1 mile from home and it stalled while driving - wouldn't restart. Waited several hours and it started fine. My mechanic said he is getting spark and fuel pump is working. In looking through older posts, it seems this problem has come up before, but I couldn't find any one who posted a final definitive answer. Also, someone had indicated that this model had a crankshaft position sensor (which, while I'm not a "car guy", sounds like a possible culprit). I've looked up on a wiring diagram and don't see it. Can someone confirm this for me? Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution? I only paid $1200 for the car, so I really don't want to start dumping a lot of money and "easter-egging" parts that aren't the problem. Any help or advise would be appreciated.
