  1. My Centennial had the straight grained wood on the steering wheel, and my car wasn't in an accident. It did appear to be a lighter color compared to the regular wood-grain steering wheels.
  2. Just out of curiosity, why is it the wrong steering wheel?
  3. Beautiful Sable Jeff! I know this thread is about the 09, but do you still mess with the '92 Sable?
  4. You got more use out of yours than I did mine. I had to replace the fuel pump at 58,000 miles
  5. My Centennial has every option for the 2003 MY: sunroof, Mach, Duratec, and it even has a spoiler. The spoiler was dealer-installed because no Centennial came from the factory with a spoiler.
  6. I've been at my new job for almost a year, and it came with a pretty long commute. I hate to get rid of my baby, but I would rather sell it while is has some shred of value left in it, and while it still has relatively low miles (72,500 miles). I haven't committed to selling just yet, but I have test driven some Fusions that I really like.
  7. Wow, that looks amazing! Michakaveli, do you think CQUARTZ would work well on black paint?
  8. Happy Birthday Devin! Hope it's a good one for you!
  9. I have the front pair of those floormats in Medium Parchment. They are good in the winter time with keeping the snow and dirt off of the carpets.
  10. This breaks my heart. You have tooo much invested in this car to give it up. Hopefully the damage isn't too bad underneath so you can save the Bull!
  11. I went to get the Taurus serviced at the dealer, and I am NOT HAPPY at all! When I was driving home, the throttle felt 'weird' to me, almost as if it was sticking. So I pull over and take a look at the recall clip that they had just put on. They put it on backwards! So thank you to 'The White Falcon' for taking pictures of your recall fix so I could put my clip on properly. Then I check the oil, and it's 1/2 qt low. So they didn't even put enough oil back in it after they changed the oil. And I know I don't have an oil leak because I just checked the oil level last night and it was right at the full mark. But I saved the best for last. When the car was in for inspection in April, the dealer told me my rear brakes were at 3/32", so I was going to need the brakes changed soon. So I told the service rep today to check the rear brakes. I then get the report card back on the brakes and it says that my rear brakes are at 7/32"! So either they lied to me back in April, or they didn't even check the brakes during this visit. I believe that they didn't even look at the brakes this visit because the rear brakes have about 20K miles on them, and I think they are due to be changed. So I ordered the parts from RockAuto, and I'll change the rear brakes myself. The sucky part is that there are no reliable mechanics around my neck of the woods. But I know one thing, I will not be returning to that dealer for anything.
  12. I washed her up last night, tire shine and all. Black sure does look classy when it's clean! Gonna take her in next weekend for an oil change and to get the recall fix done.
  13. Those wheels make it look like a Sable LTS! Very nice sir!
  14. I'm having a similar issue with my beloved Taurus. It only happens when it's hot out and the car has been driven for an extended period of time. When I come to a full stop and press the accelerator, the car bucks/jerks/stutters. However, I wouldn't described it as being violent. And on top of that it doesn't do it all the time; it's intermittent. It might do it two times in a row from taking off from a stop, and then it can drive fine after that. And once the car is moving, it shifts fine. It only happens from a dead stop. Ford told me it was a bad coil pack, but I still have the problem even after changing that out. I changed the TPS too, and that didn't help either. For me, it feels like it might be torque converter related.
  15. Looking good! Those wheels look like my Centennial wheels!
  16. Changed out the serpentine belt and the water pump belt for good measure. Used the rag method on the serpentine belt with no problem at all. Took me no more than 20 minutes to do both belts.
  17. Well, I changed out my coil pack, as the dealer said that was causing the problem with the hesitation/bucking/stuttering when accelerating from a stop, and the problem persists. It feels to me like the torque converter might be at fault. So now I'm going to try to find a reputable transmission service center and see if they can diagnose my problem.
  18. Hey Steve, sorry to hear about the car. When all is settled with it, we can try to get those headlights cleaned up for ya!
  19. The dealer diagnosed the problem as the ignition circuit #2 in the coil pack. They said they could replace it for a large sum of money. I said, thank you for diagnosing it, but I can save a lot of money and fix it myself. I'm just glad it isn't transmission-related!
  20. Had to put the Taurus in the shop for state inspection and to diagnose a problem its been giving me. When doing a lot of stop and go driving, especially in the warm weather, when I go to accelerate from a stop, the car locks up. It seems like it doesn't want to go. Then it shakes/bucks, and starts moving. Once the car is moving, it shifts fine. But the weird thing is the problem will be intermittent. So it will lock up once, then I can stop at another traffic light, and it will take off fine. Then I get to another traffic light and it will lock up on me again. I'm thinking it's trans related. Fluid is bright red, no burnt smell, and was just changed about 5K miles ago.
  21. WTF? If anything, you are the one who can bring her back to showroom condition! Just don't say that you're gonna change the front end to a Gen4 Sable this time around
  22. See, even at the young age of 6, a child can appreciate the utility of a Ford Taurus! I guess he wanted a lot of Chinese food, so he opted to take the wagon for the extra storage space!
  23. Happy Easter everyone! I used this holiday as an opportunity for the family to meet my new girlfriend. Good food and good company, I'd say it was a successful day!
  24. I have the same ones in parchment. They have served me well during the inclement weather! They help to protect my Centennial floor mats. Overall, for the price, I'm satisfied with my purchase.
