96 taugus wagon. shift cable broken

If the shifter is by the steering wheel, the part number is YF1Z-7E395-BA. It’s the same shifter from 1996-2000 models. Could get one used as well...
  3. Autozone sells a good brand with deeper splines. Company from Tennessee
  4. Swap away. Keep harness with car. Don’t use 05 harness on 03 body
  5. Does the 2003 have An AX4N transmission ?

    My Bull

Yes. Moog has a write up. The mount/sleeve breaks loose in the subframe and rattles.

Check the strut rod bushing and mount in the subframe. Moog made a kit to fix the issue if that’s what yours is.

    96 Door panel question

    Navigator? Expedition from late 90s?
  12. Now its not fun. All the bolts spun out beautifully.
  13. I just did a fuel pump on friends 2000 Taurus. Wasn't too bad a task. Fun.
  14. I don't like on the 4.6 2003+ how the oil splashed all over the steering rack fittings. Makes a huge mess. and surprisingly not the easiest to get out either. Especially if someone has "massaged" the lines. The old 5.0 is so easy. The blue Town Car rolled 228K. It's had new motor mounts installed and makes the car so much better to drive. New airbox (better sealing design) from the junkyard. 70MM tb off a Lincoln Aviator. New Motorcraft water pump, thermostat, belt tensioner assy, belt, and idler. Junkyard 50K 4.6 alternator (the old one's bearing was starting to make noise after 227K!). New drain plug from Ford in oil pan since some dumbass german torqued and stripped the threads on the bolt. New power seat motor so now I can sit where I like, not behind the B pillar. This car runs phenomenly. Next year I want to replace the exhaust manifolds, dipstick tube (has a rot hole) and the trans dipstick tube (welded on??). Love driving this car. Still need to address the mushy brakes.
  15. The cars were just as rusted in your state as Dave’s...
  16. Please respond within if you're planning to attend. These meets continue to be fun, enjoyable and people are traveling long distances to attend - let's have another one! Saturday 10/7/2017 General plan is for those arriving Friday Night/Saturday, we can hang out at the house, tinker with cars and what not, general BS. Maybe go downtown for a pic next to the worlds largest fire hydrant. and hang out there. We'll find some local BBQ place to eat. Maybe even go to a bonus junkyard if time permits that's 30-45 min from my house! Sunday 10/8/2017 Sunday 9-930AM, meet at the junkyard. Pull A Part. 5702 Monticello Rd Columbia, SC Then cruise back to my house. Get some pizza, and other assorted food/drink and hang out. Tinker with cars, BS for the remainder of the afternoon. Go to Lizard Thicket for dinner Sunday night (a local only chain restaurant with at least a dozen locations around Columbia). Anyone whom has attended the meet before has enjoyed. There are hotels all near me that are in very safe locations, very near to me, and very near the interstate. The Days Inn is not recommended per others that have stayed there before. The Comfort Inn and the Holiday Inn Express are however just fine. If you have any food or drink or anything you want to help out, chip in on or contribute - it would be really appreciated :-)

Those vents usually are snapped into place - may need to see if you can find used vents on eBay to see if screws also hold them in

    Dash trim comming off

Take out windshield. Take out defrost grill. Reglue the dash trim down. Put heavy sandbag down to hold it. Then put back together. Or try to work with it without taking glass out - maybe take dash out. check out a 2000-5 DTS they are bad
