  1. Chicago area. Just posted today. Somebody jump on this. 42k needs some skilled hands but for only $750.00 ? ! ! ! https://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/pts/d/gurnee-1998-ford-taurus-wagon-42k/7122240084.html 1998 Taurus wagon 42k original miles. Clean interior. New heater core and radio. Needs a fuel pump, 2 ball joints and an oil pan gasket. I have the parts. Parts or whole. Call with needs. Might trade
  2. in my experiences with the Gen 3 SHO's. I find when this happens, I go to one of my parts cars and take the whole headlight switch assembly out, change it over, and the problem goes away. Probably junkyard visit time for a headlight switch.
  3. Where is @Chart? Totally in his wheelhouse
  4. Oh, a couple of us still have a couple of 'em. But you're right - it is a dwindling crowd.

  6. A little light part removal before sending shell to the graveyard.
  7. Red light is either parking brake not fully released or low brake fluid. I know on the V8 SHO's the low fluid sensor is a lying piece of junk. Do a visual on the fluid level and look for puddles under the car before driving off in it after the red light activates, please.
  8. tripped over this. Maybe? https://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/cto/d/palatine-97-mercury-sable-wagon-117/6977781640.html
  9. Car is having pains of guilt for never paying me for the rear springs?
  10. Not easily. It is supposed to come out the bottom. Drop 4 subframe bolts and the whole pill comes out more or less after disconnecting steering, hoses, and wires. And flex pipe. Not meant to come out the top. I know of a couple people who did it more or less just to prove you COULD, but it is actually much, much more work.
  11. Man. That SUCKS. Seller MUST have known this was coming. Anyhow, I totally appreciate your attitude. Breakage just means that it is upgrade time! Shame/Blessing that it had to happen so soon after purchase.
  12. Thanks. I think I see a major problem. I wasn't using 'their' box. I clicked on Ground, or something like that, thought I was picking the most economical but don't actually recall seeing the words similar to Parcel Select. Been out of town a lot lately, not easy to run in to the Post Office.
  13. Wow. This is a pain in the ass. What am I doing wrong? My office UPS and FedEx wont deliver to a PO box, and USPS wants like $30.00 to deliver a 9x9x12 seven pound box from 60148 to 94603, and that's clearly rape.
  14. Well. My misfortune is your good fortune. Seems the seal on my storage container did not work so well. My footballs got wet. Choose either or both, all you gotta do is pay for shipping. They may still work but I'll give them to you free.
  15. The first pic matches the SHO exactly. I'm not home right now, I'm in New York on business. I can take a peek this weekend if I get a chance. Are you looking for a complete working 98 style unit? (96-97 have one style of plug ins, 98-99 have a different style)or are you just looking for a body to modify? I know I have bodies, I am not sure if I still have a 98 style EATC Football.
  16. Are you just looking for a radio /climate control 'football'? I probably have one of those around. It would be EATC style from a SHO.
  17. Winter Solstice tonight. Full moon tonight. Next full moon on winter solstice is said to be in 2094 I believe. Ursid Meteor Shower tonight, too. OF COURSE, it is totally cloudy tonight here where I live. GRRRRrrrr. Others might be able to get a view anyhow, so I'm posting.
  18. Spent the weekend on my back in the driveway fabricating a fuel return line for my 1986 Lincoln Towncar. Rusted out and dripping. Oh yeah - full frame car with fuel rail installed on and IN frame rails BEFORE body is set on frame. 22 feet long and dozens of bends. Used stainless steel 5/16 lines from a SHO and carefully heated and rebent them. Yep, 3 piece design to replace line without removing body from frame.
  19. The easiest mod that worked for several folks over the years is a nice shot of giggle-gas. A 75 shot of Nitrous is about max healthy level on a stock setup. Your tranny won't live long with ANY kind of serious boost in power. When I finished building SHO R T S (Eaton M90 @ 16psi boost) I already had a heavily built tranny and Tq Converter on a bench waiting to go in when the stock tranny failed. Stock tranny last 160 miles under boost. Any kind of forced induction would be whatever you can make yourself. I have done both Centrifugal and Roots superchargers on the 3.4 SHO. Looked into a rear turbo, which on hindsight probably would have been the easiest fabrication. Not as much up-front ummph, but probably less of a shock on the drivetrain.
  20. I think you're out of luck. The gen 3 clockspring just doesn't have that many wires coming off of it to control the radio and climate control. I suppose if there is a bluetooth wheel that could transmit to a module?
  21. My home address? For the bolts, just use the transmission bellhousing bolts assuming you have the drivetrain out.
  22. Daughter said the brakes on her Escape had been 'feeling funny' lately.... What brakes??? ! ! !
  23. So, I just tripped across an image from 2012. MUST be a repost but I can't find it anywhere. I give you a visual WTF?
