Gen 3 Taurus Radio trim plate for EATC - Oakland, CA

Are you just looking for a radio /climate control 'football'? I probably have one of those around. It would be EATC style from a SHO.

    Winter Solstice, totally cloudy here

Winter Solstice tonight. Full moon tonight. Next full moon on winter solstice is said to be in 2094 I believe. Ursid Meteor Shower tonight, too. OF COURSE, it is totally cloudy tonight here where I live. GRRRRrrrr. Others might be able to get a view anyhow, so I'm posting.
  3. Spent the weekend on my back in the driveway fabricating a fuel return line for my 1986 Lincoln Towncar. Rusted out and dripping. Oh yeah - full frame car with fuel rail installed on and IN frame rails BEFORE body is set on frame. 22 feet long and dozens of bends. Used stainless steel 5/16 lines from a SHO and carefully heated and rebent them. Yep, 3 piece design to replace line without removing body from frame.
  4. The easiest mod that worked for several folks over the years is a nice shot of giggle-gas. A 75 shot of Nitrous is about max healthy level on a stock setup. Your tranny won't live long with ANY kind of serious boost in power. When I finished building SHO R T S (Eaton M90 @ 16psi boost) I already had a heavily built tranny and Tq Converter on a bench waiting to go in when the stock tranny failed. Stock tranny last 160 miles under boost. Any kind of forced induction would be whatever you can make yourself. I have done both Centrifugal and Roots superchargers on the 3.4 SHO. Looked into a rear turbo, which on hindsight probably would have been the easiest fabrication. Not as much up-front ummph, but probably less of a shock on the drivetrain.

    Steering wheel questions

I think you're out of luck. The gen 3 clockspring just doesn't have that many wires coming off of it to control the radio and climate control. I suppose if there is a bluetooth wheel that could transmit to a module?

    Engine and engine stand help

My home address? For the bolts, just use the transmission bellhousing bolts assuming you have the drivetrain out.
  7. Daughter said the brakes on her Escape had been 'feeling funny' lately.... What brakes??? ! ! !
  8. Car is gone. End Thread.
  9. Hi guys - I have a '96 SHO I just don't use anymore. Daughter used it for years but went away to college and I need the parking spot. Plates expire end of the month and I don't want to renew them. Here's the deal. Car is street legal, passed emissions last year but will need Cats to pass again. Has old snow tires on it right now that would get you through last year winter but not 20" of snow. Never burns oil, engine welded, strong tranny. I want my cloth interior out of it but don't know if I have 2 gray leather front seats. I have plenty of tan seats. Great winter beater. Plenty rusty. Very dependable. In Lombard, Illinois. I want $700.00 for the car as is and no callbacks two weeks later with some bullshit wanting your money back. That is why I am selling it as a engine/trans combo with a full car attached. One can get plates for the car, I don't expect it to pass emissions, and whatever breaks, Breaks. JBL sound system is just a plus.
  10. So, I just tripped across an image from 2012. MUST be a repost but I can't find it anywhere. I give you a visual WTF?

What Rear rotors do I need for 1999 Wagon?

Here's the master list of rotors from Rockauto.com. I randomly picked the DOHC engine, not sure what you have or if it mattered. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1999,taurus,3.0l+v6+dohc,1354812,brake+&+wheel+hub,rotor,1896 Start one at a time and open the info page to check specs. Maybe you'll get lucky. Otherwise, I hate to say it, but it might be a Ford dealer that could help you.
  12. https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/cto/d/1995-ford-taurus/6567254380.html Found this, low miles good body. My eyes hurt now. WHY do people do this? It's POO. But reversible.
  13. Why don't you skip the JY, bring some money to my house, and drive home a gray '96 SHO with a JBL sound system? Body is rusty but drivetrain is strong. Planning on moving soon and just need the car gone. I am in Lombard Illinois.
  14. Our headliners are like a thin foamboard with a thin fabric glued to it. If the fabric is smooth and well adhered, I think I would be inclined to just glue another layer of thin fabric over the top of the existing liner.
  15. http://www.thechicagogarage.com/forum/sale-automotive/163754-mustang-parts.html Don't know if any of this is in your wheelhouse. That is up to you to decide. Just passing along information.
  16. jc - I got the deal of the year for you. I have a running, driving gray '96 SHO I want out of the driveway. Clean title, body has 200k on it, drivetrain closer to 100k. Welded, runs strong. Front valve cover gasket leaking a bit = smokes a bit when I fired it up last weekend. $350.00 just come and get it. Yes, you can drive it home. I live in Lombard. It has all the parts you want and a few other precious items too. Like a full on JBL sound system. Like a gray cloth interior in good shape.

    Badass party van for sale

Bwah ha ha ha haaaaaa!! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Great platform car. I have already thought of this and actually discussed this with the SWiMBO. She is not so enthusiastic. I'm just too busy to play right now and right now is the proper time to start a ball like this rolling. Who is our team if I would donate this car to the soon to be formed TSOC Bull-Team? Do we have to have a bill of sale to satisfy Lemons' minimum purchase price rules? Honestly. I could probably coax a few bucks out of my company for a sponsorship in exchange for a couple stickers on the car or so, but I think Lemons has rules about that stuff.
  19. Bump. Nobody wants a winter beater? Super rare Gray V8 SHO which 'Could' be restored. Drivetrain is rock solid. $500.00 Cash, come and get it.
  20. Hey Brian - Heads up Somebody on Chicago Garage is switching to IRS and can't use this brand new MAC 3" Catback for a 5.0 LX. He's in Streamwood - just down the road for easy pickup. Saw a bump of a thread today but it may be sold, just throwing it out there for you, Sir. http://www.thechicagogarage.com/forum/sale-automotive/159473-f-s-mac-3-cat-back-exhaust-79-95-lx-mustangs.html
  21. Hey Brian - Now there's a 54,000 mile 1989 White Mustang GT Convertible for sale nearby. Pix look really good. Car looks near flawless once you get past those floormats - those things hurt my eyes! Only asking $7500.00. I wouldn't let my Barney go for that and the SHO is higher miles. https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/cto/d/1989-ford-mustang-gt/6273520864.html
  22. Following up on 1986 Lincoln Towncar. Putting new Walker Cats, sourced from Rockauto.com Nice items. Would be even more nice if they fit perfect. They fit close, Blow torch and a mallet and the bends will be better. Flanges way off from square.
  23. Josh Ditch the Avatar, I know where that car sleeps now. And it will be cold. Very COLD. ;-) Nick It's a '86, not '96. First year of the Multiport Fuel Injected 5.0. I expect to finally turn 100,000 miles before the end of the month. Kind of a 'Christine' thing. Car has been in the family since mile 3. Car loves me. I saved it from a flood in 1987 at the expense of letting my 1969 Mach 1 drown right next to it. I took it to my reception after my wedding. 25 years later me and my bride went back to the same place with the same car and took pictures with the same owner. Lifetime photo on the wall of fame at that restaurant. I can get the cats off Rockauto.com for $85.00 each plus shipping, etc, but they are not OEM and I don't think I am that interested in paying for 30 yr old OEM parts... Leaning towards that route right now, car is totally intact and I hate putting in aftermarket parts.
  24. Patched a hole in an exhaust pipe on my 1986 Lincoln Towncar. Just behind the catalytic converter on the drivers' side. Not gonna hold for long. Really need to replace the cats, but would rather put in a straight pipe on both sides. Anybody sell pre-made "off-road pipes"? These would need to be flanged on both ends.
