Keeping Out The Weather
02 June 2011 - 02:43 AM
So the previous owners of my house converted the 2-car garage into a room (cheaply). Instead of putting up a wall with a couple of windows in place of the garage door, they put in large glass sliding doors. As if it isn't bad enough I can feel air coming through, there now appears to be a ~1 inch gap below the threshold. I don't know what was used to fill it when first installed, but it's starting to come out, and I'd like to seal it back up the best that I can. Any recommendations?
Also, I tried looking for something to seal the areas where the sliding doors come into contact with the fixed glass, but i mostly found the weatherstripping for the front door.
One more thing, The main access to the attic is also in this room, but the hatch is now warped which lets in heat.
Ideas?
