Bunnies gophers and birds, too. I've already had to remove a gopher that wedged itself up between the exhaust manifold and the firewall on a XC70. He was cooking, too

If referring to the Serpentine Belt, my shit did that. Ended up the belt whenever it got wet squeaked. Easy Fix: Replaced the belt with a Gatorback Belt, it never squeaked again. My Taurus was that way once when she was newer, and I drove though a flooded road. After that, the belt always squeaked when wet out.

New belt, would be a good idea. Kev had the good suggestion for the gatorback one. ^
As far as brakes, check how much meat is left on them. They normally squeak a little the first few times you apply the brakes after it rains. If it's really loud though you may just need new pads.
