According to the other site,

As of 12/02 Ford made some deletions/changes:
  • Change in exterior door handle design
  • Loss of interior chrome door handles in favor of black plastic door handles
  • Loss of ashtray and glovebox light
  • Loss of carpeted trunk lid liner and upper trunk liner
  • Loss of rear seat vents for the floor shift model.
  • Loss of passenger side exterior lock cylinder.
  • Loss of passenger side secondary visor on higher series models
  • Moonroof models lost the maplights over the front seats and were replaced by a single lamp.
  • Articulating rear grab handles replaced by fixed grab handles
Thing is...i got all the changes except...i have articulating grab handles, mine was MFD March 2003 in chicago. also an AX4N transmission on the vulcan. Is my car an oddball?

Mine was built 3/26/03, and I have the two articulating grab handles in the rear.

Sables with a moonroof should have the front passenger handle. It sounds like you and TRus03 both have factory flukes just because they needed to get rid of some leftover inventory of the folding-style handles.

Yeah, (mine does not have a moonroof, i just pasted that list over without removing it) kind of weird that we both got flukes from two different factories

My 01 had a glovebox light.

Didn't have any handles, though.

My 00 has everything except the folding handles.

It was built in 99 though, most of the time when I find something in the car its in the location of a Gen 3 not a Gen 4.

My 03 SEL with moon, manufactured 1-03, in Atlanta, has

older style door handles,
chrome interior handles,
no ashtray/glovebox light,
carped trunk items,
no rear air vent in console,
passenger side lock,
multiple map lights in front of the moonroof.
and articulating rear grab handles.

My 04 SES Sport, with moon, manufactured 1-04 in Chicage (where all Sports were built) has:

new outside door handles,
black interior door handles,
no ashtray/glovebox light, trunk trim, center console air vent or passenger side lock

but it has the multiple lights in front of the moonroof and fixed rear grab handles. :)

For Sedans...

Only Sables have front passenger grab handles as well as rear passenger. Moonroof and non-moonroof cars.

Only factory moonroof 00-01s have the grab handles in rear for Tauruses. All 02+ have handles. Then the switch must have happened in the 2003 CY not the MY.

Every 96-07 has the holes behind the headliner to add handles for every outbound seat. So easy mod :)

The grab handles remind me of my first car...2006 focus, had them above EVERY seat....articulating ones too.

I never seen the use for them, even in my trucks. Other people use them a lot though.

But a mod is a mod and I'll probably add them now. Posted Image

I think it is for people who have less than adequate body control, my aunt uses them to help lower herself into my car, my grandmother too, it adds a extra bit of control to their entry/exit

Looking at those anchoring points, I'm going to have to say no. It won't directly fit.
