Per ad on Craigslist, all Taurus cars make a whining noise:

I am looking to trade my 1997 Ford Taurus.
The car runs GREAT and would be a perfect every day driver.
The interior is in almost perfect shape, runs and drives perfect(has a little whining noise like every Taurus), and clean title.
The outside of the car is not in the best shape, but it obviously does not effect the driving!
I am trying to get rid of this car because I would like something smaller.

Asking 1300, or tarde for smaller car(looking for Volvo, Datsun, VW, all auto tranny please)?
One last thing, the car will need a new battery, witch I plan on getting before it is sold/traded.

I seen this car when i was out there, plates are the same and everything... it isnt terrible, but he obviously doesnt know the ways of the bull...

the whine screams PS pulley

Yes nearly every Taurus whines from the power steering pump. A good fluid flush will sometimes take care of it, sometimes a new pump is in order.

Mine made noise when I bought it, i change the PS fluid (turkey baster method) almost every oil change, almost no noise now! lol after 65k miles

Maybe it was news to me because mine does not make that sound. I have videos of my car running on youtube...... no whining....

Everyone always says that Ford's PS pumps always are loud. I've owned more then 10 vehicles from Ford, never had the problem till my pump on my bull went out. It never made a sound before then.
